MSE 2026: The Countdown Has Started – Call for Symposia

Stefan Klein Kommunikation & Medien
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde e.V.

Preparations for the International Materials Science and Engineering Congress – MSE 2026 – are in full swing. From 29 September to 01 October 2026, Darmstadt will once again become the center of materials science and engineering. Organized by the German Society for Materials Science (DGM), the MSE is one of the leading European congresses in this field.

With more than 1,200 participants from science and industry, the MSE Congress offers a platform for interdisciplinary exchange, innovative research and future-oriented technologies. In addition to top-class plenary lectures, exciting highlight lectures and interactive poster sessions, participants can again expect a varied program in 2026 – including the legendary MSE party. A special highlight: Italy is the host country of MSE 2026 and will underline its important role in materials research with outstanding contributions.

Get Involved Now: Call for Symposia Open

The MSE Congress thrives on the engagement of the community. Symposium proposals can be submitted from now on – an opportunity to help shape the scientific program and present current research topics to an international audience. We are looking for contributions in the following topics:

    B – Biomaterials
    C – Characterization
    D – Digital Transformation
F – Functional Materials, Surfaces and Devices
    I – Recycled Materials
    M – Modeling and Simulation
    P – Processing and Synthesis
    S – Structural Materials
Experts from academia and industry are invited to help shape MSE 2026 and submit their symposium proposals.

Be There – On-Site or Virtually

MSE 2026 will once again be held as a hybrid event, so that participants can attend both on-site in Darmstadt and virtually. Take the opportunity to network with leading minds in materials science, discuss current research results and gain new impetus for your work.

More information and the symposium submission form can be found on the MSE website.

    Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
