New benefit for employees is well received: more than 100 employees have already leased a bike.
Since the beginning of the year, employees at Hannover Medical School (MHH) have had the opportunity to lease a bike by converting their salary. Since then, 120 employees have taken advantage of the new bike leasing offer - and are now travelling to MHH on a company bike. Of course, the company bike can and should also be used in their free time. ‘With bike leasing, we are offering our employees a great opportunity to be sustainably mobile,’ says MHH Vice President Martina Saurin, responsible for business management and administration. She herself comes to MHH by bike every day. ‘Cycling is also very healthy.’
Savings of up to 40 per cent are possible. Bicycles can be leased with or without a motor, including racing bikes, mountain bikes and cargo bikes. ‘I like the offer because I can do something about climate change and do something for my health at the same time,’ says Peter Jäger, who works at the IT desk and now prefers to cycle to work much more than before, at least 13 kilometres each way. ‘The fact that I also save money makes it particularly attractive for me,’ adds the IT expert. Applying for a company bike is not difficult. It is also well supported by the bicycle dealers. The MHH's leasing partner is baron mobility service GmbH.
‘Benefit Days’ benefits fair
At the ‘Benefit Days’, the first benefits fair at the MHH this week, bike leasing was presented as one of many offers from which employees and students can benefit. The family service, sports offers, health programmes, pastoral care, further education and training, mediation and much more were presented. On two afternoons, a total of 25 MHH departments invited visitors to exchange ideas at the information stands, attend short presentations and take part in hands-on activities.
You can find details of the company bike leasing programme and an overview of MHH benefits at https://www.mhh.de/en/careers/mhh-as-an-employer.
