The call of Stuttgart-based Vector Stiftung is aimed at outstanding young scientists from Germany and abroad who wish to establish and independently lead their own junior research group at a university in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
The call seeks to identify and support early-career researchers who demonstrate exceptional potential in both research and teaching. By assuming the leadership role of a Junior Research Group, these researchers are positioned to pursue careers as university lecturers and researchers.
It is expected that the Junior Research Group will make a scientific contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Young researchers up to five years after completing their doctorate are eligible to apply. The funding for the junior research group is €1 million, which is to be distributed over a period of four years. Following a positive evaluation, an extension for two additional years and an additional funding of €500,000 will be considered.
It is a two-step application process, including a personal interview. Proposals can be submitted online via the foundation's application portal from now until 15 July 2025.
