The MULTICLIMACT project gathered partners in Bilbao on April 2–3, 2025, for its 4th General Assembly, marking its most ambitious phase. The project will focus on developing and testing climate resilience solutions across four real-world demonstration sites.
The MULTICLIMACT project convened its 4th General Assembly, hosted by TECNALIA, bringing together partners from nine European countries to advance strategies for enhancing climate resilience in urban areas.
This meeting marks an important checkpoint as the project has entered its second and longest phase—an 18-month period focused on the development and testing of key tools and solutions. Building on the planning and design work completed in Phase 1, this next stage will see the MULTICLIMACT CREMA tool, along with a comprehensive toolkit of design methods, materials, and digital solutions, applied and validated across four demonstration sites in real-world conditions.
Over two days, participants reviewed progress, shared insights, and planned future actions aimed at safeguarding Europe's built environment against natural and climatic hazards. The assembly featured discussions on innovative solutions, including digital tools and in-field demonstrations, designed to support communities in adapting to climate change.
A highlight of the meeting was the visit to TECNALIA’s Kubik and 3D printing facilities, offering attendees a firsthand look at cutting-edge technologies being developed to enhance urban resilience. On the second day, three interactive workshop sessions—focusing on the CREMA tool, stakeholder mapping, and video shooting and editing—gave participants the chance to refine both technical and communication strategies for engaging stakeholders and sharing project results.
“MULTICLIMACT is entering a pivotal phase where ideas become action,” said Clemente Fuggini, Project Coordinator from RINA Consulting. “This assembly reinforces our collective commitment to transforming resilience planning into real impact for communities across Europe.”

About MULTICLIMACT:
MULTICLIMACT is an EU-funded project aimed at safeguarding Europe's built environment against the increasing threats of natural and climatic hazards. By uniting 25 leading European organisations, MULTICLIMACT aims to enhance resilience, sustainability, and safety for communities across the continent. Through innovative strategies, including a toolkit of 20 reliable methods and digital solutions, the project targets the urgent need for adaptive measures against floods, earthquakes, extreme weather conditions and heatwaves. Tested across four pilot sites with diverse climatic conditions, MULTICLIMACT embodies a shared vision for a safer, more resilient future, focusing on actions to reduce the impact of climate change on the built environment.
As a project partner, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum is responsible for communication and public relations. For this purpose, in addition to the placement of scientific publications, a wide-ranging social media campaign will be implemented, multilingual communication material will be developed and activities such as web seminars and networking events will be carried out.
