Am 3. und 4. Juni richtet das ZeMKI (Zentrum für Medien-, Kommunikations- und Informationsforschung) das Symposium „From Platform Governance to Generative AI“ aus.
Fehlinformationen, Vorurteile, fehlende Verantwortung: Mit generativer KI wie ChatGPT bekommen Herausforderungen, die lange Zeit mit Social-Media-Plattformen verbunden waren, eine neue Brisanz. Das Symposium bringt daher Forschende verschiedener Disziplinen, Fachleute aus der Wirtschaft und politische Entscheidungsträger:innnen zusammen, um die Forschung zu generativer KI und Social-Media-Plattformen zu intensivieren. Es wird vom ZeMKI für die renommierte Association of Internet Research (AoIR) ausgerichtet. Die Veranstaltung findet in der Bremer Baumwollbörse (Wachtstraße 17-24) statt. Am 3. Juni findet außerdem um 19:30 Uhr in der Kassenhalle des Forums am Domshof eine öffentliche Veranstaltung unter dem Titel „Critical Times: Power and Politics in Tech Governance“ statt. Zu dem Thema sprechen Dr. Amélie Heldt (Referentin für Digitalpolitik im Bundeskanzleramt), Thomas Poell (Professor of Data, Culture and Institutions, Universität Amsterdam) und Nicolas Suzor (Professor of Law, Queensland University of Technology). Die Veranstaltung wird eingeführt von Professor Michal Kucera, Konrektor für Forschung und Transfer an der Universität Bremen. Der Eintritt ist frei, eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich.
