International Publication Award for Professor Sascha Kraus

    Professor Sascha Kraus has received the Schulze Publication Award for an article that has been read millions of times. The article on the importance of local brands for family businesses was published on the knowledge platform FamilyBusiness.org.

    Prof. Dr. Dr. Sascha Kraus from the University of Siegen has received the Schulze Publication Award 2024/25 from the FamilyBusiness.org platform in the "Research Insight" category. The award was given for his article on the particular importance of local brands for family businesses entitled "Consumers Love Local Brands - Good News for Family Businesses".

    Sascha Kraus holds the Chair of Family Business & Entrepreneurial Orientation at the University of Siegen's Schools III.

    FamilyBusiness.org is a leading international digital knowledge and transfer platform for family businesses. It prepares scientifically sound findings in a practical way for entrepreneurs, consultants and academics. The award winners are selected on the basis of readership and commitment. In particular, reach, click numbers, resonance and impact on the target group are evaluated. While articles on the platform usually achieve low to mid five-digit click rates, Prof. Kraus' award-winning article has been read around 1.2 million times to date. That is an exceptionally high reach.

    The Schulze Publication Award is presented by the US Schulze Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship, education and innovation. It is named after Richard M. ("Dick") Schulze, founder of the electronics chain Best Buy and one of the most influential entrepreneurial personalities in the USA.

    The content of Prof. Kraus' award-winning contribution is based on the scientific study "The influence of local brands of family businesses on consumer perception and purchase intention", which he published together with his co-authors Philipp Jaufenthaler, Andreas Kallmünzer and Alfredo De Massis in the renowned Journal of Small Business Management.
