A researcher from the University of Siegen is one of the world's leading scientists in his field: Prof. Dr. Sascha Kraus is listed in 3rd place in the international "measuresHE Talent 100" ranking in the field of economics. The ranking honors the world's leading researchers.
Prof. Dr. Sascha Kraus has been Professor of Family Business & Entrepreneurial Orientation at the University of Siegen since April 2025. The current placement in the "Talent 100" ranking is the first award of this kind during his time at the University of Siegen.
The ranking recognizes the world's 100 leading researchers from six scientific disciplines. It is based on innovative metrics that go beyond traditional indicators such as the number of publications or citations. Among other things, the scientific influence, the continuous quality of research and the importance of international cooperation are evaluated.
Prof. Dr. Sascha Kraus is delighted with the award: "It is an honor and I am grateful to be listed in third place worldwide in the field of economics in the measuresHE Talent 100 in 2026."
At the same time, he emphasizes the importance of collaboration in science: "Research is always a joint effort. I am deeply grateful to my co-authors, collaborators, PhD students and colleagues whose ideas, discussions and partnerships make this impactful research possible." Kraus is also proud to represent the University of Siegen in the international ranking with his work.
The "Talent 100" ranking was developed by the organization measuresHE - Higher Education Analytics, which was founded in 2025 by David Watkins and Billy Wong. Both were previously responsible for data analysis at the global university ranking Times Higher Education and are regarded as pioneers of innovative methods for analyzing and benchmarking university data.
