Open Enrollment: Apply Now at the University of Bremen

Iria Sorge-Röder Hochschulkommunikation und -marketing
Universität Bremen

Good news for last-minute applicants: From September 1 to 30, prospective students can enroll in more than 80 degree programs and subjects at the University of Bremen and receive immediate admission.

Programs and subjects with open capacity include Geography, Public Health, Business Studies, Art - Media - Aesthetic Education, Law, and Digital Media, among others. All teacher-education programs also still have open spots, helping the university do its part to train more teachers for Bremen's schools. For a full list of available subjects and details on the open-enrollment application process, visit the university website at www.uni-bremen.de/en/studies/orientation-application/applying-for-studies/study-places-still-available.

Open enrollment does not apply to master's programs, but some master's programs have extended their application deadline to September 15, 2025. More information: www.uni-bremen.de/en/master.

Anyone still unsure and looking for guidance can turn to the Central Student Advisory Office: www.uni-bremen.de/en/zsb.

Over 23,000 Applications Received for First-Semester Programs

Despite fewer graduating high school classes in Schleswig-Holstein and North Rhine-Westphalia this year, application numbers dropped only slightly. In total, the university received nearly 11,000 applications for first degrees (bachelor's programs and the First State Examination in Law). As in the previous year, the three most popular programs are Psychology, Business Studies, and Law.

The university also received nearly 13,000 applications for master's programs, a 30 percent increase over last year. Alongside Psychology, Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems and Management Information Systems are proving especially popular.
