The University of Bayreuth invites participants to the UBT AI Day on September 25, 2026, highlighting current developments in artificial intelligence. The event will bring together leading researchers and industry representatives. Under the motto “Towards Responsible and Sovereign AI for Industry,” the focus will be on responsible and practical AI solutions.
The Research Center for Artificial Intelligence in Science and Society (RAIS²) at the University of Bayreuth will host the UBT AI Day 2026 on September 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the university campus in Building RW I. Highlights of the program include a scientific keynote by Prof. Niklas Kühl, Professor of Business Information Systems and Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bayreuth, and an industry keynote by Dr. Lisa Precht (IBM). Kühl will address the topic “Are We Becoming Meat Proxies?”, while Precht will present “What if staying in control was your biggest AI advantage?”
In addition to the impulse talk “Demystifying AI” by Valentin Mayer (AI Responsibility Center, University of Bayreuth), poster pitches, and networking opportunities, the event will focus on practical insights into current AI applications. In the workshop “What Is Your AI Advantage? From Industrial Know-How to a Real Use Case,” Martin Braun of NeuroForge GmbH & Co. KG will demonstrate how companies can transform their existing expertise into concrete AI applications. Prof. Dr. Agnes Koschmider will explore the opportunities and prospects of close collaboration between academia and industry in her presentation “Industry-Science Tandem: The AI Assistants of the Future.”
The event is open to all interested participants from academia and industry, and participation is free of charge. Registration is possible via an online form or by email at ai-day-2026@uni-bayreuth.de. Further information is available at ubt-ai-day.de.
