Nun ist es amtlich: Die Titanenwurz, die im Mai 2003 in den Botanischen Gärten der Universität Bonn blühte, ist die größte Blume der Welt - und landet damit auch im Guinessbuch der Rekorde. Nach den internationalen Regeln maß die Blume von der Knolle ab 306 cm (über der Erde 276 cm). Vom 21. bis 25. Mai 2003 besuchten knapp 17.000 Menschen das Warmhaus der Botanischen Gärten der Universität Bonn, um die übel riechende Wurz zu sehen.
