MICHELE CALELLA:
geboren 1967 in Taranto/Italien, ist seit März 2010 Professor für Neuere historische Musikwissenschaft an der Universität Wien. 1977-87 Klavierstudium in Taranto und Bari sowie bis 1991 Studium der Musikwissenschaft in Pavia und Regensburg. 1991-93 Forschungsund Arbeitsaufenthalt in Paris. 1993-97 Studium der Musikwissenschaft, Mittellateinischen Philologie und Romanistik an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster und Promotion ebendort. 1997-2001 wissenschaftlicher Assistent an der Philipps-Universität Marburg, 2001-05 Assistent bzw. Oberassistent an der Universität Zürich. 2003 Habilitation in Musikwissenschaft. 2005-10 Professor für Musikwissenschaft an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.
Forschungsschwerpunkte: Musiktheorie und Musikauffassung zwischen Mittelalter und Neuzeit, Oper und Musikästhetik im 18. Jahrhundert, Konzertmusik und Konzertleben im 19. Jahrhundert, Filmmusik, Methoden der historischen Musikwissenschaft.
