Der Verband Südostasiatischer Nationen, kurz ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), ist eine internationale Organisation südostasiatischer Staaten, die sich 1967 mit dem Ziel gegründet hat, die wirtschaftliche, politische und soziale Zusammenarbeit zu verbessern und heute auch kulturelle Integration anstrebt.
Das Berliner Komitee der ASEAN, bestehend aus den zehn Botschaftern der Mitgliedstaaten, lädt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut für Asien- und Afrikawissenschaften der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin zu einer englischsprachigen Vorlesung über die Vereinigung.
