Was haben eine Backform, die Fugenmasse aus dem Bad und Zahnpasta gemeinsam? Sie enthalten alle Silizium. In der Backform und in der Fugenmasse verstecken sich Silicone.Unter anderem werden die Schüler selbst eine Backform herstellen.
Zahnpasta läuft bei geöffnetem Deckel nicht einfach aus der Tube, weil sie Kieselsäure enthält. In Versuchen können die Schülerinnen und Schüler selbst entdecken, was die Kieselsäure in der Zahnpasta sonst noch bewirkt. Sie erfahren mehr über die Funktion von Kieselsäure und Siliconen in Kosmetika wie Lippenstift, Nagellack und Zahnpasta. Anschließend wird das Gelernte in interessanten Experimenten selbst nachgeprüft.
