Die Situation wird noch komplexer durch immer aufwendigere Produkte wie Smartphones, die sich nur schwer recyceln lassen. In Deutschland tut die „Energie- und Rohstoffwende“ ihr übriges. Zeit also, geeignete Konzepte zu entwickeln, Rohstoffe effizienter zu nutzen – und vor allem auch vermehrt auf vorhandene (Sekundär)Rohstoffe zurückzugreifen. Die Chemische Technik steht vor grundlegenden Herausforderungen, neue Ansätze zur Nutzung primärer und sekundärer Rohstoffquellen zu entwickeln – und gleichzeitig liegt genau darin auch eine große Chance für den Industriestandort Deutschland.
