The programme of the symposium focusses on interdisciplinary topics and overarching aspects from pulmonology, cardiology and infection research. We’re glad to present experts of the field such as Scott Budinger (Chicago), Ben Rybicki (Detroit) and Jørgen Vestbo (Manchester) – president of The European Respiratory Society (ERS). Sessions will be on Trends in Chronic Disease, Pulmonary immune pathogenesis, Tuberculosis, Epidemiology and Chronic obstructive lung diseases (e. g. Asthma and COPD).
The DZL International Symposium is organized by one of the five DZL centers. In 2016, it is hosted by the Airway Research Center North (ARCN), headed by Prof. Klaus F. Rabe, member of the DZL Executive Board. The DZL Symposium aims at the discussion of selected aspects of innovative translational, clinical and basic research.

The German Center for Lung Research (DZL) is an association of the leading university and non-university institutions dedicated to lung research in Germany. Using translational research methods, the DZL seeks to jointly develop new approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of serious lung diseases.
