5th DZL International Symposium in Hamburg

Lung Scientists and Clinicians meet in Hamburg for the 5th DZL International Symposium (June 16-17, 2016) of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL). This year’s Symposium will be on “Networks in Lung Research” and is supported by the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK), the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) and the Cluster of Excellence “Inflammation at Interfaces”.

The programme of the symposium focusses on interdisciplinary topics and overarching aspects from pulmonology, cardiology and infection research. We’re glad to present experts of the field such as Scott Budinger (Chicago), Ben Rybicki (Detroit) and Jørgen Vestbo (Manchester) – president of The European Respiratory Society (ERS). Sessions will be on Trends in Chronic Disease, Pulmonary immune pathogenesis, Tuberculosis, Epidemiology and Chronic obstructive lung diseases (e. g. Asthma and COPD).

The DZL International Symposium is organized by one of the five DZL centers. In 2016, it is hosted by the Airway Research Center North (ARCN), headed by Prof. Klaus F. Rabe, member of the DZL Executive Board. The DZL Symposium aims at the discussion of selected aspects of innovative translational, clinical and basic research.
