Zahlreiche Pflanzen machen den Wissenschaftsgarten attraktiv für Pilze, die sich nach und nach im Garten etablieren. „Auch wenn man auf den ersten Blick noch keine Pilze sieht – sie sind schon überall!“, sagt Pilzexpertin Prof. Meike Piepenbring vom Institut für Ökologie, Evolution und Diversität der Goethe-Universität. Sollten bei der Führung noch keine großen Pilze zu finden sein, gibt es kleine Rostpilze, Mehltaupilze oder versteckte Pilze an totem Holz zu entdecken. Zu den verschiedenen Arten werden ökologische Zusammenhänge und die Bedeutung der Pilze für den Menschen beschrieben.
