IGCP n° 503 "Ordovician Palaeogeography & Palaeoclimate" hat die klimatische und paläogeographische Entwicklung im frühen Paläozoikum (Schwerpunkt ist das Ordovizium) zum Thema und ist das Nachfolgeprojekt zum sehr erfolgreichen IGCP-Projekt n°410 "The Great Ordovician Biodiversification Event" (1997-2002).
Im Anschluss an die Eröffnungstagung findet vom 4. bis 12. September eine geologische Exkursion nach Südschweden (Fågelsång, Öland, Gotland) statt. Die Teilnehmerzahl ist auf zwanzig beschränkt. Die Teilnahmegebühr beträgt 650 Euro. Eine Anmeldung ist bis 31.Mai möglich.
