Die Verhängung der Todesstrafe für Glaubensabweichler und -abtrünnige im Islam sorgt meist für ein großes Medienecho und internationale Proteste. Der Vortrag beleuchtet die Interpretationen aus dem 9. bis 12. Jahrhundert, die für die Verteidigung der Todesstrafe herangezogen werden, ebenso wie die Kritiker dieser Rechtsauffassung, die sich ebenfalls auf mittelalterliche Auslegungen berufen. Er argumentiert, dass Häresie- und Apostasievorwürfe und die entsprechende Rechtsauslegung schon früh primär politisch motiviert waren.
Zu diesem Vortrag sind alle Interessierten herzlich eingeladen.
