Darüber gibt die Magnetrelaxometrie (b) Auskunft. Sie lokalisiert das Zentrum der Nanopartikel-Anhäufung – hier dargestellt als schwarzer Punkt im gelben Tumor. Die Amplitude des Relaxationssignals gibt den Wissenschaftlern darüber hinaus Informationen über die Menge der Partikel: In diesem Falle sind es 75 Prozent der ursprünglich injizierten Partikel.
