Produktion von MikroRNA im Prostatagewebe: A) gesundes Prostatagewebe; B) bösartig verändertes Prostatagewebe; MikroRNA-produzierende Zellen färben sich bei dieser Nachweismethode blau ein. MikroRNA wird im Gewebe des Prostatakarzinoms deutlich stärker produziert als im gesunden Gewebe. MikroRNA können ausschließlich in der obersten Zellschicht der Prostata und in Krebszellen nachgewiesen werden. (Methode: in situ Hybridisierung; gefärbt mit einer Sonde gegen miR-200c)
