TU-Mitarbeiter Dr. Roy Buschbeck misst an einem Versuchsstand im Labor der Professur Anorganische Chemie den Kupfer-Ionen-Gehalt des Wassers. Zur Kontrolle versetzt er eine entnommene Wasserprobe mit einem Nachweismittel, das mit den Kuper-Ionen reagiert und sich je nach Kupfergehalt unterschiedlich stark verfärbt.
