Zentrosomen organisieren die Spindelpole und Mikrotubuli, die für die Trennung der Chromosomen während der Zellteilung verantwortlich sind. B) Zentriolen (rote Punkte) während unterschiedlicher Stadien der Zellteilung. Am Ende jeder Teilung werden die beiden Zentriolen eines Zentrosoms getrennt, als Vorbereitung für den nächsten Durchlauf des Zellzyklus.
