Der Augsburger Religionsfriede wurde am 24. September 1555 unterzeichnet. Jeder Landesherr konnte in seinem Territorium nun die Konfession bestimmen. "Cuius regio, eius religio", lautete der Grundsatz für die Untertanen, frei übersetzt: "In wessen Gebiet ich lebe, dessen Glauben habe ich". Zugleich wurde hier aber auch das erste Emigrationsrecht formuliert. Wer seinen Glauben nicht ablegen wollte, durfte auswandern. Zumindest theoretisch.

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
