Der Turbogang bei der Reprogrammierung wird durch den ‚BAF Chromatin-Remodeling-Komplex’ eingelegt. Dieser Komplex macht bestimmte Abschnitte der Erbgut-DNA für die Transkriptionsfaktoren Oct4, Sox2, Klf4, und c-Myc leichter zugänglich. Die Reprogrammierung im Turbogang (unten) ergibt homogenere und kompaktere Kolonien, was die Oct4-Protein-gekoppelte Fluoreszenz (rechts) gut zeigt. Das transgene Oct4-Protein ist durch die Reprogrammierung reaktiviert worden. In dieser Abbildung ist jeweils nur eine Kolonie dargestellt.
