So sieht das von Fraunhofer IPM gemeinsam mit den Firmen Hübner GmbH in Kassel und IANUS Simulation GmbH in Dortmund entwickelte Terahertz-Briefspektrometer »T-Cognition 1.0« aus. Eine Schublade zieht die Briefe in das System. Per Knopfdruck wird die Sicherheitsprüfung gestartet. Auf dem Touchscreen wird per Farbsignal angezeigt, welche gefährlichen Stoffe (Sprengstoffe und/oder Drogen) an welcher Stelle in der Post nachgewiesen wurden.
