Mechanosensorische Endigungen von Nervenzellen in der Haut, nehmen Berührungen wahr. Hier schmiegen sich verschiedene Nervenendigungen (rot und grün) um den Schaft eines Haares (graue, faserige Struktur), der in einem Haarfollikel verankert ist. Die Nervenendigungen werden durch Bewegungen des Haars angeregt. Dabei wird der mechanische Reiz in elektrische Signale umgesetzt, die ins Gehirn weiter geleitet werden.
