Der grüne Stern zeigt die Position von LS 5039, wie sie mit Radioteleskopen bestimmt wurde, und die weiße Ellipse das Zentrum der Gammastrahlung. In der oberen linken Ecke des Bildes ist eine weitere, von H.E.S.S. entdeckte Quelle hochenergetischer Gammastrahlung sichtbar, das Objekt HESS J1825-137.
