Professor Dr. Benno Müller-Hill, emeritiertes Vorstandsmitglied des Genetischen Instituts, ist zum Ehrenmitglied der Gesellschaft für Genetik ernannt worden.
Professor Dr. George Klein (Stockholm) führte in seiner Laudatio aus, daß die Ehrung "in Würdigung seines wissenschaftlichen Werkes", für die Aufklärung der genetischen Kontrolle des Lac Operons von E.Coli und für sein Buch "Tödliche Wissenschaft" in dem die Kollaboration der Genetiker im Dritten Reich beschrieben ist, erfolge.
