Zum 27. Mal veranstaltet die Urologische Klinik und Poliklinik am Klinikum rechts der Isar der TU München am 14. und 15. Oktober 1999 das international bekannte Münchner Endourologische Symposium. Es werden mehr als 300 Teilnehmer aus ganz Europa erwartet. Veranstaltungsort ist der Hörsaal A im Klinikum rechts der Isar, Ismaninger Straße 22.
Unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Rudolf Hartung, Direktor der Urologischen Klinik und Poliklinik, sowie Oberarzt Prof. Dr. Herbert Leyh werden im Rahmen des Symposiums neue Techniken der Prostata-Chirurgie und minimal-invasive Eingriffe zur Korrektur der weiblichen Harninkontinenz vorgeführt. Erstmals wird in Direktschaltung aus einer Pariser Klinik eine Radikaloperation in Laparoskopie-Technik bei Prostatakrebs gezeigt.
Begleitend zu diesem Operationsseminar findet ein Seminar für das Pflegepersonal statt. Ein Thema ist das Management vor und nach großen tumorchirurgischen Eingriffen.
