"In Würdigung seiner Forschungsleistungen an interdisziplinären Schnittstellen der Chemie, insbesondere der chemischen Katalyse, und der internationalen Führungsposition in der Metallorganischen Chemie" wurde Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolfgang A. Herrmann mit der Ehrendoktorwürde (Honorary Doctor of Letters Degree) der Texas A&M University/USA ausgezeichnet.
Die Verleihung durch Präsident Dr. Robert M. Gates erfolgt am 12. Mai 2006 im Rahmen der Absolventenfeier der Texas A&M University.
