Vierte Professur für eine Urologin

    Frauen in der Medizin

    Sie ist die Vierte im Bunde: Urologin Dr. Sabine Kliesch wurde im Mai 2006 von der Medizinischen Fakultät Münster zur außerplanmäßigen Professorin ernannt. Damit hat die Urologie neben Prof. Margit Fisch (Hamburg), Prof. Daniela Schultz-Lampel (Baden-Württemberg) und Prof. Ulrike Zwergel (Saarland) nun auch in Nordrhein-Westfalen eine weitere Medizinerin, die diesen Titel trägt.

    Außerdem ist die 42-Jährige seit Januar 2006 Leitende Oberärztin der Klinik und Poliklinik für Urologie Universitätsklinikum Münster.
    "Die Urologie ist traditionell eine Domaine der Männer", sagt Prof. Sabine Kliesch. "Deshalb freue ich mich umso mehr, dass wir Frauen nach und nach an Boden gewinnen." Ihr wissenschaftliches Arbeitsgebiet liegt in der Andrologie und der Hodentumorerkrankung.
    Dass Urologinnen heute keine "Raritäten" mehr sind, ist Frauen wie ihr zu verdanken. Immerhin sind
    8,5 Prozent dieser Fachgruppe Frauen.
