Das John-F.-Kennedy-Institut der Freien Universität Berlin und der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) laden zum 2. Internationalen Workshop des "Transatlatic Degree Programs Project" ein. Das Thema der Veranstaltung lautet: "Educating for A Globalized World: Transatlantic Alliances and Joint Programs in Business Education and Economics between the US, Canada and Germany". Der Workshop findet vom 20. bis 22. April 2006 in Tampa im US-Bundesstaat Florida im Vorfeld der Jahrestagung der AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) statt.
Der Workshop ist Teil des Sonderprojekts "Transatlantic Degree Programs" (TDP), in dessen Rahmen untersucht wird, ob und in welcher Form "Gemeinsame Studiengänge" und "Doppeldiplom-Programme" auch im transatlantischen Kontext etabliert werden und somit zu einer Stärkung der Hochschulkooperation zwischen den USA, Kanada und Deutschland beitragen können.
Der TDP-Workshop in Tampa richtet sich an Hochschulvertreter aus Verwaltung und Lehre im Bereich der Wirtschaftswissenschaften (Business Education, Economics) und verwandter Disziplinen an US-amerikanischen, kanadischen und deutschen Hochschulen. Teilnehmen können zudem Experten auf dem Feld der Internationalisierung von Hochschulen. Die im Rahmen des Projekts gewonnenen Erkenntnisse sollen bei der Schaffung neuer transatlantischer Studienprogramme helfen und zu einer Intensivierung der transatlantischen Hochschulzusammenarbeit beitragen.
