Der Bundesminister des Innern hat Prof. Horst Michna (52), Ordinarius für Sport und Gesundheitsförderung und Dekan der Fakultät für Sportwissenschaft der TU München, zum 1. Januar 2007 zum Direktor des Instituts für Dopinganalytik und Sportbiochemie in Kreischa/Dresden ernannt.
Das Institut für Dopinganalytik und Sportbiochemie ist eines der beiden deutschen, vom internationalen Olympischen Komitee (IOC) akkreditierten Dopinglabore. Weltweit besitzen nur 32 Labore den IOC akkreditierten Status und führen analytische Untersuchungen zum Nachweis eines Dopings im Sport - neben Menschen auch bei Pferden - durch.
Michna ist ausgewiesener Experte für Sexualhormone und ist Mitglied der 2003 von der Nationalen Anti-Doping-Agentur (NADA) eingerichteten Arbeitsgruppe Prävention. Zuletzt beriet der Sportwissenschaftler die bayerische Staatsregierung bei der Formulierung des Anti-Doping-Gesetzentwurfs.
