Der Rektor der TU Clausthal, Professor Dr.-Ing. Peter Dietz, verabschiedete heute Professor Dr. rer. nat. Reiner Labusch, Institut für Angewandte Physik.
Professor Dr. rer.nat. Reiner Labusch, 1935 in Königsberg in Ostpreußen geboren, studierte Physik an der Universität Göttingen, promovierte (1962) und habilitierte sich (1969) in Göttingen. Sein wissenschaftlicher Weg nahm seinen Ausgang am Institut für Metallkunde der Universität Göttingen (1963 - 1969). In dieser Zeit war er für ein Jahr "Research Associate" an der Cornell Universität in Ithaca im Staat New York. Die Universität Göttingen blieb - über die Stationen Privatdozent (1969), außerplanmäßiger Professor (1972), wissenschaftlicher Rat und Professor (1973) - seine geistige Heimat, bis ihn die TU Clausthal im Jahr 1975 berief. Hier leitete er das Institut für Angewandte Physik. Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Metallkunde zeichnete ihn 1971 mit dem Masing-Gedächtnis-Preis aus.
