Das Jahr 2000 wurde unter der Schirmherrschaft der UNESCO zum Jahr der Mathematik aus-gerufen. Als Beitrag dazu veranstaltet die Fakultät für Mathematik der Technischen Universität München eine Ringvorlesung unter dem Motto: "Überall ist Mathematik".
Die Vorlesung wendet sich an alle Freunde der Mathematik, Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene, Schüler und Lehrer. Der Eintritt ist frei.
