Senat der Universität Bielefeld wählte Rektor und die vier Prorektoren
Professor Dieter Timmermann neuer Rektor
Der neue Senat der Universität Bielefeld hat am 24. Januar Prof. Dr. Dieter Timmermann zum Rektor der Universität Bielefeld gewählt. Er tritt die Nachfolge von Prof. Dr. Gert Rickheit an. Die Amtszeit des neuen Rektors beginnt mit dem Sommersemester am 1. April 2001. Darüber hinaus hat der Senat die vier Prorektoren der Universität gewählt, deren Amtszeit ebenfalls am 1. April 2001 beginnt. Wiedergewählt wurden Prof. Dr. Christoph Gusy als Prorektor für Finanz- und Personalangelegenheiten und Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Krohn als Prorektor für Struktur, Planung und Bauangelegenheiten. Neu im Rektorat sind Prof. Dr. Katharina Kohse-Höinghaus als Prorektorin für Forschung und wissenschaftliche Nachwuchs sowie Prof. Dr. Gerhard Sagerer als Prorektor für Lehre, Studienangelegenheiten und Weiterbildung.
