Im Rahmen des Gemeinschaftsstandes "Forschungsland Sachsen" (Halle 16 / Stand B 23) sind Wissenschaftler der TU Dresden mit sieben Exponaten bzw. Projekten auf der Computermesse CeBIT 2001 in Hannover vertreten. Beteiligt sind das Institut für Systemarchitektur, Institut für Akustik und Sprachkommunikation, Institut für Theoretische Informatik, Institut für Systemarchitektur, Institut für Systemarchitektur und Institut für Nachrichtentechnik sowie der Mannesmann Mobilfunk Stiftungslehrstuhl Mobile Nachrichtensysteme.
