Scholarships open for applications at NRW Research School BioStruct, Düsseldorf, Germany
Highly motivated and excellent candidates holding an MSc or Diploma degree in the fields of Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry and related fields can now apply for one of 9 Scholarships for PhD Studies in Structural Biology applied to Molecular Medicine or Biotechnology.
The NRW Research School BioStruct offers innovative doctoral education and research within a stimulating interdisciplinary environment of internationally renowned research groups applying structural biology to the fields of molecular medicine and biotechnology. Structural Biology forms the basis for understanding of molecular functions and subsequent cellular processes. It is a crucial and fundamental science for modern biotechnology and molecular medicine. Modern challenges of Structural Biology need an enormous range of scientific methods, represented at Heinrich-Heine-University (HHU) Düsseldorf and partner institutes at Research Centre Jülich and Max Planck Institute for Bioinorganic Chemistry in a unique width and completeness. BioStruct introduces this concentrated expertise to a new generation of PhD studies at HHU Düsseldorf:

The NRW Research School BioStruct and the school chairmen Prof. Dr. Lutz Schmitt and Prof. Dr. Dieter Willbold now invite applications for currently 9 open PhD Scholarships.
Highly motivated and excellent candidates holding an MSc or Diploma degree in the fields of Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and related fields can directly apply for one of 9 PhD Scholarships including a monthly stipend of 1345,- EUR and contributions towards travel and research expenses.

The concept of the International Graduate School BioStruct was selected for funding by the program 'NRW Research Schools' of the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology of the German Federal State North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) in 2008.
