Die molekularen Mechanismen der Erregungsübertragung an den Schaltstellen zwischen zwei Nervenzellen stehen im Zentrum eines internationalen Symposiums an der Universität Würzburg.
Die Tagung "Molecular Physiology of the Synapse" findet von Donnerstag bis Samstag, 14. bis 16. Juni, im Institut für Pharmakologie und Toxikologie in der Versbacher Straße 9 statt. Veranstalter ist der Würzburger Sonderforschungsbereich 487 "Regulatorische Membranproteine: Vom Erkennungsmechanismus zur pharmakologischen Zielstruktur" (Sprecher: Prof. Dr. Martin J. Lohse).
Zum Beginn der dreitägigen Konferenz wird der Nobelpreisträger Prof. Dr. Manfred Eigen aus Göttingen am Donnerstag, 14. Juni, um 18.15 Uhr im Hörsaal des Instituts im Rahmen der "Rudolf Virchow Vortragsreihe" der Medizinischen Fakultät einen Vortrag halten. Sein Thema: "Molecular Diagnostics: Viruses, Prions, and Alzheimer's Disease".
