Symposium "Innoversity" vom 18. bis 20. September 2003 an der TU Berlin
Innovationen gelten ohne Zweifel als ein zentrales Kennzeichen moderner Gesellschaften. Innovationen, die durch die Zusammenarbeit verschiedener Akteure entstehen, sind der heutige Hauptmotor der ökonomischen, sozialen und kulturellen Veränderungen. Für fast alle Unternehmer, Wissenschaftler und Politiker ist es wichtig, Innovativität zu fördern. Sie müssen die Fähigkeit entwickeln und pflegen, neue Lösungen für Probleme zu finden, neue Produkte herzustellen, technische Infrastrukturen zu bauen und dabei neue Formen der Organisation und sozialen Koordination aufzuspüren.
Aus einer soziologischen Perspektive betrachtet, liegt heutzutage das Besondere an Innovationen darin, dass sie aus der Zusammenarbeit verschiedener Akteure in einer verteilten, arbeitsteiligen Form entstehen. Die zentrale Problematik im Bereich der Innovativität besteht darin, eine Lösung für folgendes Dilemma zu finden: Unterschiedlichkeiten und Vielfalt befördern Innovation und Kreativität einerseits, führen aber gleichzeitig auch zu Koordinationsproblemen. Jede Gesellschaft steht nun vor der Aufgabe, das richtige Maß an Vielfalt in Bezug auf die arbeitsteilige Gestaltung von Innovationsprozessen zu finden - Vielfalt zu schaffen und zu organisieren, ohne jedoch die dabei stattfindenden, spezifischen Herangehensweisen zu nivellieren.
Mit dieser zentralen gesellschaftlichen Problematik beschäftigt sich das von der Volkswagen Stiftung geförderte in der Europäischen Akademie Berlin vom 18. bis zum 20. September 2003 stattfindende internationale Symposium "INNOVERSITY - Innovation and Diversity in a Knowledge Society: Towards a New Regime of Distributed Innovation". Das Symposium findet in englischer Sprache statt und wird von einer Gruppe von Soziologen an der TU Berlin unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Werner Rammert, Techniksoziologie, organisiert. Die Organisatoren kooperieren mit dem Zentrum für Technik und Gesellschaft (ZTG) der TU Berlin und dem Fraunhofer-Institut Systemtechnik und Innovationsforschung (ISI), Karlsruhe.
