Die US-amerikanische Folk-Band „The Americans“ ist am Montag, dem 18. Juni, zu Gast an der Freien Universität Berlin. Die Vorlesung mit musikalischen Einlagen findet um 14 Uhr im Hörsaal B des Henry-Ford-Baus statt und dauert 90 Minuten. Gastgeber ist das John-F.-Kennedy-Institut für Nordamerikastudien; die Veranstaltung wird von der Kulturabteilung der US-Botschaft unterstützt. Die Veranstaltung ist öffentlich, der Eintritt frei. Die Veranstaltungssprache ist Englisch.
Der Auftritt der Band aus Los Angeles ist Teil von deren Europatournee. Dabei halten die Mitglieder an insgesamt drei Universitäten in Deutschland Vorlesungen zur Geschichte der amerikanischen Folk Music.
