Die ZEDAT (Zentraleinrichtung für Datenverarbeitung) der Freien Universität Berlin stellt am Freitag, dem 7. November, Simon Patience, den Chef der Core OS, Apple USA, dem interessierten Publikum mit einer Tagung vor. Mitorganisatoren sind German Unix User Group (GUUG) und O'Reilley. Simon Patience spricht über: "Mac OS X and the Power of UNIX". Dieser Vortrag ist auf Englisch.
In weiteren Referaten spricht Armin Briegel/Apple Deutschland über "Mac OS X and Panther Server" und "Mac OS X and the Power of UNIX". André Aulich, freier Apple-Mitarbeiter und O'Reilley-Übersetzer berichtet über die Integrationsmöglichkeiten des Open Directory in heterogenen Netzwerkumgebungen. Dazwischen sind Frage- und Antwort-Runden eingeplant. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich vor allem an Anwender, die sich über dem Mac als Plattform für Unix-Entwicklungen informieren wollen.
