Am 3. Dezember hielt Allain Bourgoin in der Humboldt-Universität einen Gastvortrag zum Thema "Lernen im Internet". Herr Bourgoin ist Koordinator des Programms Information-Technology-110 in New Brunswick, Kanada. Dieses Programm ermöglicht AbiturientInnen, die von zu Hause aus arbeiten wollen oder müssen, die Teilnahme an einer Reihe von Lerneinheiten im Bereich Verwendung und Gestaltung von Internet- und World Wide Web-Diensten.
Das Programm ist aus einer Kooperation von verschiedenen Regierungs- und Industriepartnern entstanden. Es wird von einem Konsortium von Mentoren (LehrerInnen mit guten Technologiekenntnissen) betreut. Information und Kommunikation bedienen sich einer Reihe von Kanälen: World Wide Web, ein privater Chat-Room, ein Web-Forum, email und Videokonferenz. Die Funktionsweisen dieser Informations- und Kommunikationskanäle wurden im Vortrag demonstriert, so daß TeilnehmerInnen der Veranstaltung auch die Möglichkeit hatten,
