Die Finalists in fünf Kategorien für den jährlichen Science Breakthrough of the Year Award stehen fest.
Die Science Breakthroughs of the Year werden am Dienstag, den 16. September 2025, bekanntgegeben und präsentieren ihre wissenschaftlichen Durchbrüche beim Falling Walls Science Summit am 9. November in Berlin.
Fünf hochkarätig besetzte internationale Jurys haben mehr als 1500 Einreichungen aus 52 Ländern geprüft und die vielversprechendsten wissenschaftlichen Durchbrüche ausgewählt.
In jeder der fünf Kategorien Life Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Social Sciences & Humanities sowie Art & Science wird ein Projekt als Science Breakthrough of the Year ausgezeichnet.
Berlin, Deutschland, 14. August 2025. Die Falling Walls Foundation gibt die Finalists in fünf Wissenschaftskategorien bekannt, die um den Titel Science Breakthrough of the Year konkurrieren. Für jede Kategorie haben renommierte internationale Fachjurys die zehn Finalists aufgrund ihres herausragenden Potenzials, die Menschheit voranzubringen und positiven Wandel für die globale Gemeinschaft zu schaffen, ausgewählt.
Aus jeder Kategorie wird ein Finalist als Science Breakthrough of the Year ausgezeichnet. Die fünf Preisträger werden am 16. September 2025 bekanntgegeben. Darüber hinaus werden die Falling Walls-Programme Engage, Female Science Talents, Lab und Venture jeweils einen Science Breakthrough of the Year hervorbringen, die im Rahmen des Falling Walls Science Summit ausgewählt und ausgezeichnet werden.
Alle Preisträger präsentieren ihre Arbeit am 9. November im Rahmen des Falling Walls Science Summit, der vom 6.– 9. November in Berlin stattfindet – mit weltweiter Sichtbarkeit.

In jeder Kategorie wird ein Laureat ausgewählt und eingeladen, die eigene Arbeit am 9. November beim Falling Walls Science Summit vorzustellen. Die Falling Walls Foundation freut sich darauf, die Gewinner live auf der Bühne in Berlin willkommen zu heißen. Die Bekanntgabe der Laureaten erfolgt am 16. September 2025.
ÜBER DEN FALLING WALLS SCIENCE SUMMIT
Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 2009 hat sich der Falling Walls Science Summit zu einem führenden internationalen Forum für wissenschaftliche Durchbrüche und interdisziplinären Austausch entwickelt.
Jährlich vom 6. – 9. November in Berlin veranstaltet, erinnert der Science Summit an den Fall der Berliner Mauer und bringt weltweit führende Köpfe zusammen, um zu diskutieren, wie Wissenschaft die Zukunft mitgestalten kann.
Mit seinen zentralen Formaten Falling Walls Pitches, Falling Walls Circle und Falling Walls Science Breakthroughs – fördert der Science Summit die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Politik und Zivilgesellschaft, um transformativen Wandel voranzutreiben.

ÜBER DIE FALLING WALLS FOUNDATION
Die Falling Walls Foundation gGmbH ist eine gemeinnützige Organisation mit Sitz in Berlin, die sich der Förderung von Wissenschaftskommunikation und öffentlichem Dialog über Forschung widmet.
