Das CiS Institut für Mikrosensorik präsentiert erfolgreiche Neuentwicklung auf der electronica 2004 in München.
Die Silizium-basierte Fotodiode weist mit Hilfe eines speziellen Filters linear polarisiertes Licht im Bereich von 400-950 nm mit einer Selektivität von 1:105 nach. Der Detektor ist in einer SMD-Bauform ausgeführt (3,08*2,04 mm²). Als Polarisationsfilter werden colorPol®-Glaspolarisatoren der Firma CODIXX AG eingesetzt. Die rechteckige Form lässt sofort die Polarisationsrichtung erkennen (s. Abb.).
Linear polarisiertes Licht mit einer Schwingungsebene parallel zur langen Kante des Sensorgehäuses wird detektiert, die Schwingungsebene senkrecht zu dieser Kante mit dem o.g. Kontrastverhältnis gedämpft .
Der Detektor ist im Temperaturbereich von -55°C - +125°C einsetzbar.
