Die Firma Polyplan, das Zentrum für Marine Tropenökologie - ZMT und Grashoff´s Bistro Feinkost & Delikatessen möchten die Presse am 3.11.2005 um 11.00 Uhr zu einer Präsentation in Grashoff`s Bistro, Contrescarpe 80 (am Hillmannplatz), einladen:
DIE BREMER GARNELE
Tropische Shrimps aus einer umweltfreundlichen Kreislaufanlage
Deutschland ist mit Japan und den USA einer der größten Garnelenkonsumenten. Etwa ein Drittel der Garnelen, die im Fischfachhandel, in der Gefriertruhe des Supermarktes oder in Fertiggerichten landen, stammen aus Aquakulturanlagen. Weltweit erfährt die Zucht von Shrimps in Aquakultur einen Boom, der bei Intensivproduktion jedoch Schattenseiten zeigt: Umweltzerstörung, -verschmutzung und chemische Rückstände in den Produkten, die sogar zu Importbeschränkungen führen.
Angesichts dieser Entwicklung haben ZMT und Polyplan ihr Know How im Bereich biologische Wasseraufbereitung und Lebenszyklus von Garnelen für ein Pilotprojekt zusammengetragen. In einer umweltfreundlichen Kreislaufanlage mit synthetischem Meerwasser konnten Garnelen ohne Rückstände in exzellenter Qualität gezüchtet werden. Das Projekt wurde durch das Land Bremen unterstützt. Anlässlich des Projektabschlusses möchten ZMT und Polyplan nun ihr Produkt der Öffentlichkeit vorstellen.
SIE ERHALTEN DIE GELEGENHEIT, VERSCHIEDENE SHRIMPS-REZEPTE ZU PROBIEREN. DIE VON ZMT UND POLYPLAN PRODUZIERTEN BREMER GARNELEN WERDEN NACH IDEEN VON HERRN SCHMIDT ZUBEREITET UND GELADENEN GÄSTEN AUS WIRTSCHAFT UND POLITIK SOWIE VERTRETERN DER PRESSE SERVIERT. BEGLEITENDE INFORMATIONEN ZU DEM PROJEKT PRÄSENTIEREN DR. ANDREAS KUNZMANN (ZMT) SOWIE DIPL. ING. STEFAN BRUNS UND DIPL. BIOL. CHRISTINA THOBOR (POLYPLAN).
Der Anspruch, Garnelen auf umweltverträgliche Weise zu produzieren, führt auch zur Frage des eingesetzten Futtermittels. Fischmehl ist wegen der hohen Belastung der Fischbestände in Verruf geraten. So soll als Folgeprojekt in Kooperation mit einem auf diesem Gebiet führenden U.S.- amerikanischen Experten und deutschen Lebensmitteltechnikfirmen ein Futtermittel mit hohem Anteil an pflanzlichen Eiweißen entwickelt werden.
