Die Technische Universität München (TUM) und die University of Aizu in Japan haben ein Memorandum of Understanding zur Kooperation und zum Austausch von Studierenden und Wissenschaftlern unterzeichnet. Der Schwerpunkt der Universität von Aizu liegt im Bereich Informationstechnik und Informatik, sie pflegt vielfältige internationale Beziehungen.
Das Abkommen wurde vom Dekan der Graduate School of Computer Science and Engineering der Universität Aizu Prof. Nikolay N. Mirenkov und von TUM-Vizepräsident Prof. Dr. Arndt Bode unterzeichnet. Für Studierende der TUM ist Aizu, circa 250 km nördlich von Tokio gelegen, ein interessanter Standort für ein Austauschstudium. Die Unterrichtssprache ist Englisch, die japanische Kultur und Sprache können durch das Leben in Aizu vermittelt werden.
