IBM Deutschland verleiht Preis für beste Diplomarbeit aus dem Bereich Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien
Im Rahmen des Tages der Fakultät Informatik der Technischen Universität Dresden (TUD) am 19. Mai verleiht das große Computerunternehmen IBM Deutschland den "IBM Award für die beste Diplomarbeit eines Jahrgangs aus dem Bereich Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien an der TU Dresden". Der Preis geht an Ralf Irmer für dessen Diplomarbeit "Parallele Interferenzreduktion für ein MC-SS FCDMA System". Die Auszeichnung ist mit 1.500 Euro dotiert und wird von Martin Welsch, Senior Architekt Pervasive Computing, IBM Deutschland Entwicklung GmbH, überreicht.
Die Gutachter bewerteten diese Diplomarbeit auf Grund des überdurchschnittlichen wissenschaftlichen Niveaus übereinstimmend mit "sehr gut". In dieser Arbeit wird untersucht, in wie weit die Methode der Parallelen Interferenzreduktion im Mobilfunkalltag in der Lage ist, den Einfluss bestimmter Interferenzen auf die Leistungsfähigkeit von Mobilfunksystemen zu reduzieren.
Ralf Irmer wurde an 2. Juni 1973 in Freiberg geboren. Nach dem Abitur 1992 begann er ein Studium der Elektrotechnik an der TU Dresden (TUD). Die ausgezeichnete Diplomarbeit entstand am Mannesmann Mobilfunk Stiftungslehrstuhl für Mobile Nachrichtensysteme der TUD. Seit Mitte April ist Ralf Irmer am TUD Institut für Nachrichtentechnik als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter tätig.
