Die Fachgruppe Stochastik der Deutschen Mathematiker-Vereinigung (DMV) und die RWTH Aachen veranstalten in der Zeit vom 4. bis zum 7. März 2008 die "8th German Open Conference on Probability and Statistics (GOCPS 2008)". In 21 eingeladenen Plenar- und Sektionshauptvorträgen und ca. 300 weiteren Vorträgen in 16 Sektionen werden Sprecherinnen und Sprecher aus 35 Ländern ein breit gefächertes Spektrum von Themen aus den Bereichen Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie und Statistik mit Anwendungen in Finanz- und Versicherungswirtschaft sowie in den Wirtschafts-, Natur-, Lebens- und Ingenieurwissenschaften präsentieren.
